hadn't done this in a looooong time! and embarrassingly, this was my first time visiting the ship 'balclutha'.  i will definitely be making a return trip! $5 gets you access to four historic ships for 7 days?! gotta love the national park service!

this, my first for the day, turned out way better than it had any right to:

...from workshop.  one of my favorite models! i had painted over some bad drawings in my sketchbook and that served as an interesting base color for the studies. 5-10 minutes, these...i think...

a ship, some clouds and other abstractions

these came about from some exploratory work done in a fantastic workshop i took recently taught by erik tiemens.  an amazing and inspirational artist and great guy!  i feel lucky to have had the chance to learn from him.
