inspired by murnau's faust

this is just a further exploration of a previous drink and draw sketch from a while back. i had been inspired by a scene from the silent film "faust" by f.w. murnau where the devil appears looming over a village, wings outstretched, vapor whipping by, but with otherwise no other action. very arresting indeed! so simple but so bleak and so chilling. anyhow, i think i might eventually paint this fer reals.
